At the first of the summer I noticed a few little plants pop up in my front flower bed. I recognized the leaves as some kind of squash or cucumber so, being the very practical person that I am, I decided to let it grow to see if I could get some home-grown produce from the plant. There were loads of blossoms, but nothing was growing from the blossoms and I almost tore the whole thing out a couple of times. Then one day we finally noticed that a pumpkin was starting to form - we had a pumpkin plant!
I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. I was really hoping for a cucumber plant to eat, but we decided that the kids would like it and so we let it grow. It is quite a sight, this huge plant growing right by our front steps, but we don't have too many visitors and who really cares anyway?
Well, a couple of days ago we were looking at the nicely growing pumpkins on our plant when Bump discovered a beautiful orange pumpkin growing under our front porch! Yup, our biggest pumpkin is under the porch, behind the lattice where we really can't get to it without tearing off a large section of lattice. What do you do? If we let it stay there it will rot and go to seed and then I will be forever fighting pumpkins in my front flower bed.I have to laugh, but it is a dilemma. . .what would you do?

That's awesome! I bet the kids are excited for pumkin carving season.
I think it's halarious! I have no idea what you should do. Can you dig under the lattice? Good luck!

Ummm...Fun? :) I guess I would either dig or try to cut the pumpkin out somehow by mutilating the pumpkin...Hmm...Good luck with that one! :)
So funny! I didn't do the Weight blog on purpose! This is a great blog and I am laughing now at my mistake!
Feel free to put our blog on your list as well.

I have no idea what i would do but you have to let us know your decision. It looks like a pretty good size pumpkin.
Thanks for the laughs Erie. I like Kim's idea, start digging a tunnel.
