Corban's Birthday

Since last winter Gabby has convinced Corban that for his birthday he gets to go to Lagoon. She figured this out because his birthday is in the summer and Lagoon is only open during the summer, so, therefore we would be going for his birthday since we couldn't go for her birthday. Makes sense, right?? Well, it just happened to work out that we could go to Lagoon and so we told the kids it was for his birthday even though it was a few weeks early.
We left Quincy with Tricia for part of the day and Bump's parents picked her up for the second half of the day. Gabby and Corb had a blast! Corban had a little trouble with the concept of waiting in line for the other kids in front of him to go first. There was a lot of crying and teaching about patience and taking turns, but I don't know if he ever really grasped the concept.

His favorite ride was the bumper cars. He went on them over and over and over again. When we would leave and go to other rides he would ask to go back to the bumper cars. It took him a few turns to get the hang of it, but loved it when he would get bumped by other kids. We had a great time with the kids.

Last Sunday was when we actually had his birthday party. We had whoever could come over to the house on Sunday night for cake and ice cream. It was fun to have Jamie and Marty there, even though they were in town for something not very fun (Marty's Mom's funeral). Corb got a lot of cars for his birthday and was thrilled! It was good that we celebrated his birthday on different days, because his actual birthday we were at Marty's Mom's funeral all day. It worked out really well and he never knew the difference. Happy Birthday Bud!
