My Significant Other TAG

Bump's cousins wife, Kristi, tagged me to disclose info about my awesome significant other.

His name: Brayden Christian "Bump" Williams

How long have you been married?: 10 years on Feb. 6th - yeah!

How long did you date?: High School Sweethearts - December 1991 was our 1st date, we dated off and on in high school, both went on missions and got married in 1998.

How old is he: 32

Who eats more? Depends on the day. I would have said me a month ago, but now he gets a bigger calorie allotment so now it would be him unless I cheat!

Who said "I love you" first? I don't know. Our relationship was so casual for so long, but I am the more likely candidate. I don't hide my feelings well. I know that I kissed him first (see my previous tag!!!) :)

Who is taller? Bump at 5'10, I am only 5'1

Who sings better? Bump would always say me, but that is because he is so modest. He has a beautiful voice and I love to hear him sing! We were in Madrigals together in High School and it is so fun for us still to sing together! I think we both do pretty well!

Who is smarter? Bump, again, would say me, but I say we are pretty equal. We both have our stronger points. I had a better GPA than he did, but it was just because he would rather be fishing than studying not because I am smarter!

Whose temper is worse? Definitely mine - how sad for my kids to be stuck with me all day instead of their dad!

Who does the laundry? Me, most of the time. He will help me put it away if I ask him to.

Who does the dishes? I do most of the time now. He does when I am pregnant and gaging on every smell or if I haven't gotten around to doing them and they are driving him nuts!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Every time we move our bed sides change depending on where the door to the bedroom is. He usually sleeps closest to the door. It's nice because when kids come into the room at night they usually go to him! That was just a bonus for the real reason - I don't like to sleep closest to the door. It all goes back to my brothers sneaking into my room at night and scaring me. Bump has to be my protector now - just not for my brothers any more.

Who pays the bills? I do, but I made Bump do it for awhile when he was spending too much money to see where all of our money was going. He learned a great lesson and now we both take responsibility for what we have and what we can spend.

Who mows the lawn? I do. Bump has allergies that bother him a lot when he mows. We haven't owned a home for awhile to have to worry about it, but now I mow his parents lawn for them. They think it only needs to be mowed once every 2 weeks!! That's crazy talk to me! I was out there at least once a week all this summer! At least I am not like my dad that liked the lawn to be left long, but mowed twice as often. We had a half-acre of lawn to mow and 2 push mowers and we mowed every 3 to 4 days! Seriously ask him!

Who cooks dinner? Me - I like to cook. When he is in charge it is usually spaghetti, mac and cheese or grilled cheese - he does very good bachelor-type foods.

Who drives when you are together? Bump unless he is tired or just doesn't feel like driving

Who is more stubborn? It depends on what the situation is, but I think we would both agree that I am usually more stubborn

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Bump, would say that he is, but I think that we will both admit that we are wrong when it is actually proven.

Whose parents do you see the most? Bump's, since we live with them and mine live out-of-state

Who proposed? He did - finally after being home from his mission for a whole 5 DAYS! That is a story in itself - too long to tell!

Who has more friends? I used to, but now our roles have been reversed and he is the little social bug out in the world while I stay home with the kids.

Who has more siblings? I do-I have 3 sisters and 4 brothers, Bump has 3 brothers

Who wears the pants in the family? We wear the pants equally I would say.

That was fun - I hope you enjoyed it! I now TAG: Mom, Jamie, Tracy, Tricia, Julie, Tera, Casi and Kim. Have Fun!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Aren't birthdays exciting when you are a mom?? I had a great birthday, nothing exciting, but pretty nice!

Sunday night Bump's brothers and families came over for a very decadent chocolate cake. I figured if I wasn't going to worry about dieting at that time that I would go all out and get one of Costco's to die for chocolate cakes - isn't that worth breaking your diet for or what??? It was heavenly! We played some fun games and hung out together and laughed a lot. Thanks for the nice gifts everyone!
In case you were wondering that is Gabby's cousin in the background, not Gabby.
Don't want to confuse you.

On Monday, my actual birthday, Bump had to work and it was pretty much a typical day for me except that we got a huge big snow storm and I loved every bit of it. We need the snow so bad and since I wasn't planning to be out in it, I just hoped that it would keep on coming! The kids had a blast out playing in the back yard making snow angels. Lee and Tricia called and asked if they could take me out to lunch. It was great! I put the kids down for naps and Ron and Gus listened for them (the bonus of living with family) and we went to get my favorite Cafe Rio Salad, but this time I went with chicken instead of the sweet pork (after eating all that chocolate cake and all). Then Lee had to go and get a little Tres Leche cake dessert thing that they have that was so good! Luckily we all shared it, so I didn't have to feel bad about eating it all myself - it was really, really good!! Tricia also gave me a necklace and earrings in my birthstone - they are so cool and I absolutely love them!! Thank you!

That night Bump wanted to take me out for dinner, but I talked him out of it and make dinner at home. Instead I told him that I wanted him to go to water aerobics with me. He liked it when he went with me a few weeks ago and was fine to go this time. Well, things were going great and we were getting a good workout when suddenly the teacher (who I have never gone to before) pulled out a beach ball and started blowing it up. Bump whispered to me "I want nothing to do with a beachball" and started swimming away to do some laps. The teacher called him back and said that he just had to participate. We proceeded to all try to keep the ball from touching the water while treading water in a circle. It was just fine and nobody cared except for Bump whose macho-meter took a big hit that night. But he did it all for my birthday and I love him for it.

Tuesday was great too! Tracy took the kids and myself out to lunch and let them play on the indoor play-place at Arctic Circle. We all had fun and it was great to get the kids out!!! Thank you Tracy. Also, as a fun bonus that day we found out that we are pre-qualified to buy a house and will now start actively looking - yeah!!! We have decided to keep it is South Davis County, if possible and will see what we can get for under $190,000! Probably not much!!

Anyway, thanks for all the birthday calls and gifts. It was a great few days and I had a blast! You all ROCK!

Sickness

I just have to write a quick note to say that I hate having sick kids! I don't think I would mind winter half as bad if I didn't have to deal with slimy boogers, hacking coughs that aren't covered by little hands, and a never ending supply of ear infections.

Saturday night I took Quincy to the InstaCare because of a high fever and pulling on her ear, which has become quite common with her. Yes indeed, she is on her 5th ear infection and she is just 7 months old!! I think our next appointment will be with an ENT specialist to see about getting some tubes! Oh well!

Sorry about not keeping up, but it's not easy with coughing, whiny kids! It will get better, it always does.

****On an up-note (is that really a proper phrase??) I am loving my pass at the new Rec Center and have been doing water aerobics for the last few weeks. If anyone living around me wants to join me some evening I go at either 8 or 9 pm and the classes are Monday - Thursdays. I love it and it is helping me to work up to bigger and better things down the road. Maybe I might even learn to like running some day??? Who knows? I just hope it will help me to be healthier even while my kids are sick!

NOT Awesome New Product

So, I think this is false advertising!! I have tried it with high hopes, and my hopes were dashed! I took the post off the Wright Weight Blog. Yes, you get all the extra fiber and good stuff, but it is in no way sweet enough to replace sugar!! I need to use about 3 times the amount in the kids oatmeal to get them to eat it and it is still bland. I am very, very sad that this wasn't as wonderful as it could have been!!! Sorry for the hype!!

Happy New Year!

I am so excited for this new year! I am excited to get in shape and get my life more organized (it will help when we finally get into a house - still working on that). My saying for this year is NO MORE EXCUSES!! I am determined to be a better mom, wife and healthy woman! 2008 here I come!!!

On another note. New Years Eve was a blast! We forgot our camera so you can check out pictures on Casi or Tera's blogs. We appreciate Lee and Trish letting us use their house for our party even though they weren't there! They just have a perfect party house! We ate lots of food, the kids played really well and we rocked out to "Rock Band" and played a few other fun group games. I was very impressed with everyone's talent at singing or playing instruments! Everyone had so much fun! We rang in the new year with pots and pans and some of Lee's neighbors had some Wyoming fireworks that we got to enjoy from the front porch! It was a great party and a great way to welcome in the New Year!! Thanks everyone for coming and having fun with us!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Christmas

Santa came to our house and boy were the kids excited! They all got what they asked for. Gabby got Polly Pocket Princesses, Corban got loads of cars and Quincy got just a few fun things for her first Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve at Darin and Sue's house celebrating Darin's birthday and eating lots of good food. Christmas morning was spent at home with just our little family. Later that day we went to Jeremy and Jen's house for Christmas dinner with their family and Ron and Gus. It was a nice, relaxing Christmas.
