Corban's Room Before and After

Tracy helped me to finally finish painting the bead board and trim in Corban's Room today, so I am posting the most dramatic before and after pictures yet!! We are starting to move in this week!!! Yeah!!

Before wall with huge old wall vent plaster patch and new heat vent

After same wall

Before wall with plaster falling off

After with bead board covering

Another corner with holes in the plaster

Gotta love the bead board!! It hides things so well!

Before doorway and closet - notice no molding above the door??

After, the same doorways. I haven't actually painted the door yet! Another time, another day!

Our Growing Baby

My Girls on Easter!

Quincy is now 9 1/2 months old and is crawling everywhere and climbing on things and surprising me daily with what she can do. She waves and tries to say hi to everyone. She is really a good baby, but terribly attached to the people she is around the most (mom, dad, grandma and grandpa). She is fine as long as one of us is in the room, but it's hard to leave her with other people.

I finally got around to downloading some pictures off of my camera and really had to laugh at the picture that I will post below. We have all had some fun with the Jib Jab website where you get to paste your head on another person's body - it's really funny and fun to play with. Well, this picture of Quincy looks like I took her head from another picture and pasted it onto a smaller body! It's crazy how funny it looks! I promise I did not doctor it up, it's just the way the picture turned out, but it made me laugh.

The ironic thing about this particular picture is that this month at her 9 month well-baby check up Quincy's head is in the 99% for her age! She really does have a huge head! How can she not have a huge head coming from both the Williams and the Wrights? But it particularly shows in this picture taken at last weeks Wright Easter Party.

It's a good thing she's so cute! Nobody notices how big her head is!!

More Before and After Pictures

Most of these pictures are of the upstairs before and after we painted. Please note that the trim isn't done in any of these rooms yet. It will be a brighter, nicer, cleaner white. At the end of the slide show are pictures of the finished middle section of the living room floor, along with the new light fixture hanging in the entry that Tera's mom-in-law gave us (thanks Susan!), and also some pictures of our new appliances that we got last Saturday. They make the kitchen look so much better put together!

There is still a lot of work to do, but it's nice to look at these pictures and see the progress. Thanks again everyone who has taken our kids and helped out at the house, we couldn't be this far along without your help!

Finally some Before and After Pictures of the House

So, we spent the day sanding and staining the floors in the living room, parlor and main floor bedroom. It took forever to do, but it looks really great! The pictures don't do it justice.

I will be adding more pictures in the next few days. I keep forgetting to take some "after" pictures of the upstairs.

The house is really coming together and is looking so great! We are getting excited to start moving in!

Some Before Pictures

Tera keeps getting mad that I haven't posted any "before" pictures of the house. I don't want to scare anyone and don't want to post pictures until I can show "after" pictures at the same time. Well, yesterday Tracy came over to help work on the house with Tera and I and we took these pictures of the work that Tracy was doing. She just jumped in and started fixing things.

This little storage area in the attic is obviously very scary and I was afraid of having birds invade our space. Tracy got in and started ripping things out to see what was going on because there was a big hole in the soffit. She took out old bird nests and hornet's nests and lots of garbage and old insulation. Then we used some leftover bead board and patched the hole temporarily until Jared can come in and put in new soffit for us (right Jared??? 'wink wink') She also covered it with new insulation and it looks a lot better now! Thank you, Tracy for all of your hard work!

I will show all of Tera's hard work in a few days - We are progressing!!! Yeah!

Looking from outside up at Tracy looking out the soffit

Inside the attic space. See the box full of bird nests and garbage that she pulled out of that corner?

Finding the right appliances

I just have to make a quick comment because I am so frustrated! How in the world do you choose appliances?? Everything is going so high tech now and I was hoping to find just a basic set of black appliances. Well, since I have been looking at both new and used I have found that black is really quite a popular color choice in appliances, especially used ones. I keep looking at KSL.com and as soon as I see a black fridge or range and call on it it is already gone!

I am trying to keep my budget very low but get some that will be good and last and I am beginning to think that it is quite an impossible task. I guess anything is better than what is in the house right now, but I just hate spending money on those things when I could be making the house itself much better looking!

Just had to vent! I hope your day is going well!
