Corban turns 4

Yes, my little man is now a 4 year old! His birthday is going to be a challenge every year, I think, because it competes with school starting. This year his birthday fell right on Gabby's first day of Kindergarten. Those two are so close in age that Corb had a really hard time watching Gabby go off to school. Things will be better when he starts pre-school next week.

This year's birthday was all about Transformers. I am still trying to figure out how he even knows what Transformers are! Seriously! He doesn't watch Transformer cartoons and he definitely hasn't seen any of the movies. He hangs out with his sisters mostly and I am at a loss as to how he knows so much. He especially loves Bumblebee - how does he know who Bumblebee is? No clue.

Well, of course, his dad, having grown up in the true era of Transformer-mania was thrilled and went all out looking for Transformers that were suitable for a newly turned 4 year old. He bought him a Transformer cartoon DVD and found a few toys, I bought him a few t-shirts and his aunt, Tera, won the prize with a large Bumblebee toy that lights up and makes all kinds of fun noises, (I will be getting you back for that one, Tera!!) it is still Corban's favorite. I have banished it to his bedroom.

He also loves swords and "warrior" kinds of stuff, so with our help, Grandma and Grandpa Williams bought him a Viking warrior kit. Corban calls it his "Fat Princess costume." This has reference to a video game that he likes to watch his dad play that is called "Fat Princess," don't ask. . . it's a funny cartoon game where you fatten the princess up to make her harder for the enemy to carry her off. . . seriously. Anyway, he opened up the present and yelled out, "Fat Princess!!!"

It was a great birthday. We celebrated it when Gabby got out of school by driving to Grandma and Grandpa Williams' house for cake (Transformers cake, of course) where Tera and her 3 kids joined us.
