Tuesday, August 28th was Quincy's first day of Kindergarten. To say she was excited is such an understatement. She asked me 100 times if it was time to go yet. She had to wait a whole week after her brother and sister started school AND she is in afternoon kindergarten so her first day didn't start until 12:45. But the day and time finally came and she is loving kindergarten!
On Thursday Gabby got her hair cut. She thought she might want to grow it out now and tried during the summer to see how she would like it. By the time school started she was done with her "long" hair and ready for a cut again. She looks too cute with this cut! She was so happy that Amanda did a special do after she cut it this time.
We have some very dear friends who have a daughter that just turned 8. While we were camping this summer she asked her mom if Bump could perform her baptism. Her mom said of course and she asked Bump if he would baptize and confirm her. This Saturday was the special day. Sierra McMillan was baptized and we were so happy to be a part of her day.

Sunday our Stake was on pins and needles waiting to hear the news about what boundary changes would be happening that day. There was a special stake meeting at 6:00 for all those wards affected. Our ward has had a long skinny boundary, so we knew that ours would be greatly affected. It was. Basically our old ward is now part of 4 different wards. The stake created a new 14th ward, that my sister Tracy is now a part of and they have a chunk of our old ward.
Bump and I were definitely ready for change and looked forward to what would happen with us since we are pretty much on the edge of the stake. There weren't a lot of surprises, the new boundaries are very neat and square, following roads, except when it came to the block that we live in. Instead of keeping us with the rest of our block and moving us into the Clark 2nd ward, they cut right down our back yard and kept just one row of houses from our block in our old 10th ward. (We are on the corner of Kearl and Main) Well, we were thrilled! Most of our closest friends live right in the middle of the new ward boundary and even though we were fine to go somewhere else, it was a nice surprise to get to stay with them. We are excited to meet lots of new people too that are close neighbors, but we have never gotten to know because we were in different wards.
So, we still have the same bishop, but he has a whole new bishopric (that we don't know). Bump is still the Young Men's president and his boys were breathing deep sighs of relief about that. I will still be teaching Gospel Doctrine until further notice and we get to meet great new people! If you look at the map, everything on the north (top) side of Main Street were all in another ward before, so that's a bunch of new people that were added.
People were giving us a hard time about having a connection in the stake to keep us in our old ward. I can honestly say that I feel so good about this. It was a huge surprise to us and we would have done anything we were told, but I am really happy with the changes and the decision that was made in regards to our family.
